Turriga 2016 Isola dei Nuraghi IGT 75 cl Argiolas

Turriga is a grandiose red wine, definable as, the perfect synthesis of the Nuraghi territory enclosed in a bottle.

An icon among Italian wines and the prestigious wine of the Argiolas company, Turriga stands out for its elegance, richness, class and balance that have made it a strong symbol of Sardinia thanks also to the care and attention paid to traditions and expert touch of Giacomo Tachis, well-known winemaker who gave birth to some of the best Italian wines.

The Turriga is built by assembling only grapes of indigenous vines, with the prevalence of Cannonau, a percentage of Carignano, Bovale and black Malvasia are mixed.

Its ancient vines grow on medium calcareous soils, located about 230 meters above sea level, where the mild Mediterranean climate favors the conditions for growing grapes.

The harvest begins in late November. The harvested grapes are carefully selected before going on to fermentation and allowing the juice to macerate on its skins for 16-18 months, aging takes place in new French oak barrels for 18-24 months and finally aging it ends in the bottle after a further 12-14 months.

The Turriga Argiolas is undoubtedly a majestic red, which in the glass reveals its intense ruby ​​red and releases a seductive bouquet, complex and balanced at the same time, giving evolutionary hints of berries, jam and Mediterranean aromatic herbs, to close with roasted notes of cocoa and coffee beans.

The taste reveals itself up to its fame, through the rich, full-bodied sip, with great structure, elegant and a fine and persistent finish. A satisfying and classy wine.
